Hello long lost friends. It is I, the Mira person. As you can see I switched my blog site, and I am hoping that I'll write more now that I have a pretty new space where I can post pictures, and an address that is easier to remember. I know I dropped off the face of the planet, but I have spent months reading my friend's blog and she has inspired me to try again.

But I must say that my spirits are low these days. Over winter break my mom was diagnosed with liver cancer, and hernia, a cracked rib from coughing, and then developed septic shock, totally randomly and unrelated to anything else. This last one was a major dewsy because she went to bed one night, and we couldn't wake her up the next morning. I have never been to scared. But they saved her, and she is back home now. Thus we have moved on to dealing with the cancer issue. She goes in for surgery next week sometime, and while there is a 1/20 chance she'll die on the table because of blood loss, this is the only treatment option that gives here a decent chance at being cured. I am not really a big fan of cancer right now.

Meanwhile, I have begun my 2nd semester at law school, which is fun so far. I imagine it would be much more so if I didn't have so much running around in the back of my mind though. But still, my grades for the 1st semester were good, all my teachers are being very accomodating, and the school is willing to help me as much as they can. All-in-all, I feel quite lucky to be close to home and at such a wonderful school. There is something to be said for that, even if I don't have a big law school name on my resume.

In the end, I miss you all. I miss how stable everything was last year, even though it drove me mad at the time. I miss hanging out with my students at lunch, listening to you sing to musicals and create wacky stories. I even miss Arjun's little taped story where I was the crazy lady from... Where was I from? Anyway, I had a cool accent and I remember a crocodile ate someone, which is always cool. I hope you all are doing well in high school. Feel free to cheer me up with your stories.

Siobhan, the movie was called "Conspiracy", and I want to see your hair and fake glasses so please send a pic.

Danielle, yeah for DI! Be positive about softball, because as your mean old bio teacher says, "the odds are in your favor." and you're right, cancer does suck! Booooooooooooooooooto cancer!

Dude that was not a novel, I wrote more about (ahem *cough*) my trip to the salon than Mira did about her whole first semester. Seriously.
