Several of my good friends are fighting for the right to be able to do what you and I have always been allowed to do - formally commit to the people we love. However, there are many that want to permanently take that right away by changing the California Constitution, a step that cannot realistically be undone, even if society comes to view it as a mistake down the road. Those in favor of Prop 8, which would formally define marriage as between a man and a woman in the California Constitution, have raised $ 15 million dollars to fill the airwaves and TV stations with hate propaganda in the remaining weeks before the election.
